New Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 2024 Redesign, Specs – Now in its fifth generation, the Jeep Cherokee has been around in the United States for approximately fifty years. As an alternative to the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, it provides seven cargo slots but actual off-road capability and a class-leading 4,500-pound towing capacity.
Three engine options are offered by Jeep for the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee: the 180 horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark, the 271 horsepower V6, and the optional 2.0T four-banger with 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The Trailhawk variant includes all-wheel drive, making it one of the most capable off-roaders in the compact crossover class. A nine-speed automatic transmission is a standard across the range.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Redesign
There are a ton of new extras in every 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, regardless of trim level. As a result, new cars have LaneSense lane departure warning, full-speed forward collision warning with active braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detecting, rain sensor wipers, and rain-sensor wiper systems. Front heater seats, remote start, and other additions are available on the Latitude Plus and Trailhawk, and new front power windows on the Latitude. The new Latitude Lux has heated seats and a heated steering wheel as standard equipment. You get Lux’s dual-pane sunroof and adaptive cruise control when you get the Limited model.
Even the most basic Jeep model has a clean and comfortable interior, which dispels the misconception that Jeep only builds utilitarian vehicles. As far as I can tell, the 2024 Cherokee’s interior is the same. As a result of being made on the larger Grand Cherokee, the whole ambiance is comfortable and family-friendly while still maintaining a feeling of luxury. The built-in controls are easy to reach, and the quality is great. The inside, on the other hand, is more crowded than the best on the market, with only limited everyday storage. If you look at how small the Cherokee’s trunk looks next to the car’s overall size, though, you’ll be shocked to find that it’s very small.
You may choose from three different engine options for each trim. The 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine is standard across the board, no matter where you are in the world. This engine produces 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, but it needs to be revved up to work at its best. It is not one of our favorite engines, and we don’t feel that the engine’s relatively large displacement equates to driving performance. To some extent, it’s because the nine-speed automatic gearbox is unsure of what to do.
The 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 engine that powers the rest of the Jeep line up to the Trailhawk is a smaller version of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine used in nearly every other Jeep vehicle north of the Cherokee. An engine with 271 horsepower and 239 pound-feet of torque is unusual in the compact crossover segment, but this one comes with the same transmission and is paired with a V6 that supports the vehicle’s outstanding towing capability. There are several areas in which it outperforms, including its deeper low-end grunt as well as its more powerful high-end. Off-roading is good because the naturally aspirated torque curve is straight. This makes it a good match for the Trailhawk.
